Tea tree oil is distilled from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia plant, found in Australia. The oil possesses antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antifungal properties. A person can treat acne, athlete's foot, contact dermatitis or head lice using tea tree oil. It serves as an antiseptic for minor cuts and scrapes, helps boils blisters, and abscesses heal, helps remove warts; soothes insect bites or stings, and disinfects air.
(Please note: Essential oils are highly concentrated liquids that can be harmful if not used carefully and properly, and may cause irritation when applied to the skin. We encourage you to dilute oils at all times with any carrier oil and exercise caution when using them. We do not recommend using essential oils internally.)
